National Heat Pump RebateChecked against canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/campaigns/one-million-home-energy-retrofits.htmlVerified 19 Oct 2026

Rebate Check ("we", "us", rebatecheck.ca) is an independent guide to heat pump rebates in Canada. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • Checker answers (province, heating type, home type, household size, income range). These stay in your browser unless you ask for quotes.
  • If you ask for quotes: your name, email, phone, city, the first 3 characters of your postal code and your checker answers.
  • If you join the "tell me when it opens" list: your name, email, the first 3 characters of your postal code, your heating type and when you need a heat pump.
  • Standard server logs and, if enabled, analytics (pages visited, device type, rough location).

How we use it

  • To put you in touch with an installer in your area when you ask for quotes.
  • To email you when the federal rebate opens, and if its rules are published before then (sign-up list only).
  • To fix problems and improve the site.

Sharing

We don't sell your information. We share your details with an installer only when you ask for quotes. We use service providers for hosting, email and spreadsheets (Google) who process data for us.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep quote requests and sign-ups for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Every email from the sign-up list has a way to unsubscribe.

Your rights and contact

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email matt@rebatecheck.ca.
